The dentistry department at the Adelaide Animal Emergency & Referral Centre is run by registered small animal dentistry practitioner Dr. Kirsten Hailstone.
Veterinary dentistry is the branch of veterinary medicine that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and disease treatment of an animal’s teeth, gums, and other structures of its mouth.
Dental hygiene and health for your dog or cat is just as important to their overall health and quality of life as it is to yours. And just like our teeth, dentistry is all about prevention.
Dr. Hailstone and her specially trained nursing team deliver a variety of both preventative and corrective procedures, including dental radiography, repair of fractured teeth, root canal therapy, placement of dental crowns and implants, facial fracture repair, and advanced extractions with the use of biosynthetic bone grafts.
If you would like to make an appointment to see Dr. Hailstone for a small animal dental assessment or procedure, you will not require a referral from your regular veterinarian. Simply contact AAERC during business hours, and our friendly staff can make a time that suits you. Dr. Hailstone will discuss with you any tests required for your pet and will advise you of any dental procedures that she recommends.
All dental costs will be discussed with you, and you will be kept fully informed of your pet’s progress throughout the process. Our veterinary dentistry department has access to state-of-the-art dental radiography, specialised dental implant materials and equipment, and advanced anaesthesia and monitoring equipment to give your pet the highest standard of care such as you would wish for your dental health.
We accept vet referrals for a variety of dental conditions, including:
- Full dental assessments
- Root canal procedures
- Tooth capping
- Tooth Extractions
